BAJA WINE COUNTRY
The countryside surrounding Ensenada is Mexico's version of Napa Valley, producing more than 90% of the country's wines. Most of the local wineries offer daily tours and tastings, and in the summers, a variety of wine-and-food festivals. (Wine Country Map)
In recent years Baja Wineries have truly come of age and have received accolades from wine connoisseur and publications worldwide.
Located a short drive from the Baja coastline, the Ensenada wine country makes for an excellent day trip of fine wine and food. Quaint Inns and Hotels provide for a romantic getaway for persons looking to spend several days exploring the rolling hills of the Ensenada wine country.
Partake in the annual Fiestas de la Vendimia (Wine Festival) which lasts for 10 days in early August and gives visitors a chance to sample the young vintages.
